Destination races

Train for and complete a destination trail race with Life’s 2 Short Fitness!!

Join L2S and women trail runners as we train for and travel to beautiful destinations to participate in trail races twice a year.

The first race is the Taylor mountain trail half marathon on June 24th in beautiful Washington state.

This beautiful single track course winds through the lush temperate rain forests of the Pacific Northwest, with creek crossings and views of the iconic mount Rainier.

Sample itinerary:
Thursday:
Arrive in the am.  We spend the day exploring Seattle, the fisherman’s warf, do a pi-yo session and enjoy a nice dinner.
Friday:
Go for a light run, get breakfast and coffee and head out to Taylor mountain for packet pickup and pre-race meeting.  Enjoy a nice dinner and talk about race strategy, expectations and nutrition.

Saturday:
RACE DAY!!  We head out to the start line and do a group warm-up.  Those who want to go their own pace head off, otherwise we finish as a group!  Post race: Recover and relax.  Enjoy a stretching and foam rolling session post run-  laccross balls and foam rollers provided.    Do some shopping and then head out to celebrate our accomplishment with dinner and drinks!
Sunday:
Sleep in, grab some coffee and breakfast and then go for a short recovery hike and explore more of the beautiful trails in the area, grab lunch and then head back to Seattle to catch our flights!

You are responsible for the cost of:
– Meals/drinks
– Transportation to/from the airport (we will try to arrange a hotel that has a free shuttle)
– Race entry

This 4 day, 3 night excursion includes:
– Hotel (1 night in Seattle, 2 nights at Taylor mountain)
– Transportation (to the race and other activities/excursions)
– Fun excursions and activities

Training:

Check out our local 12 week training group where we meet at different trails twice a week to train for the race!!  In these coached sessions we will increase mileage weekly and practice work on hills, turnover and technical terrain.  Learn more here.

Cost:
Will range between $400 (arriving Friday)- $550 (Thurs-Sunday).   The total trip costs depends on arrival day and how many sign up.
We can take up to 11 women so tell your friends, the more we have the cheaper it is for you!!

A $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot MUST be made by March 1st (this allows us to pre-pay and book the hotels and transportation ahead of time for the best rates).   L2S members save %15 on entire trip cost!!!

* Note: You are responsible for booking your own flight. You may arrive Friday, however no later than 12pm. You MUST book a flight that leaves at 6pm or later on Sunday or you will have to find your own transportation to the airport- we want every minute possible to enjoy our time!

Rooms will be booked for double occupancy.
