Winter is the best time for trail running!
In this clinic we will talk about what to wear, what to bring, special equipment and proper techniques for running on snow and ice (including how to fall safely and gracefully) and then head out for a guided winter conditions trail run to put to practice these skills.
The clinic also includes handouts that will be sent to your inbox after registration, discount codes for local winter trail races and swag. More details (map to location, meeting spot) will be emailed and also posted on the facebook event page.
Join us afterwards for deals on brews and lunch at the Evergreen Brewery and Taphouse just across the street!
About your coach:
Sara Spolrich has been running and hiking long trails for years and feels most at home with a pack on her back. She has completed several ultra distance races including the Tommyknocker 12 hour and Steep Camp 48 hour events this year. Sara really shines when she encourages others to go after their own dreams of endurance. In fact, she received the trail name “Coach” on the Appalachian Trail for that very reason (she completed part of the trail during the winter!). She has her Wilderness EMT certification and is an instructor for Women’s Wilderness as well as an assistant teacher.
