About this event

We have teamed up with the Pacuare Outdoor Center to offer this magical 8 day trip that includes mountain/gravel biking, hiking, rafting, SUP, cultural immersion and so much more!

You’ve never experienced Costa Rica like this. Our POC partners are expert local guides, passionate about helping our runners discover the real Costa Rican flavor through true adventure and world-class accommodations paired with delicious and healthy authentic cuisine. You will be traveling with coaches Lauren Jones, mtb/hiking guide + SUP instructor and Leah Camden, head coach for the L2S mountain biking programs.

This experience is all about exploration for early to advanced intermediate riders. Bike, hike and paddle through virgin rain forests, beneath towering volcanoes, along pristine beaches and remote landscapes that make up the small villages and towns that dot the countryside.

Costa Rica is come to one of the worlds most vast and rich ecosystems where we will see sloths, toucans, howler monkeys, hercules beetles, giant tortoises and more in the wild.

Some info Costa Rica biking terrain:

The terrain varies from highland single track trails to lowland flats on rural banana plantations. Costa Rica is 13,000ft at its highest point and on average only 90miles wide so it is hard to avoid at least one steep climb most of the time. .

Several of our excursions will take us on rural agricultural roads which are some of our favorite for biking because the views are expansive around you because you are not covered by the forest. Agriculture is done in valleys or on the side of the rolling hill and biking around the sugar-cane, coffee, and banana plantations offers a unique experience with great scenery looking down or up. During this time of year the coffee crop is in harvest so you will likely see those working in the fields picking the coffee beans and filling up their baskets.

The way down is a curvy ride with great views of the valley of Turrialba below and the smoking Volcano to your back. These rural roads are only used for tractors that work in the coffee plantations and not used for cars.
