Join us for a long weekend in the colorful desert landscape of Western Colorado! This year, we have partnered with Gemini Adventures and all runners will get to run the Fruita Trail Half as a part of their registration!
L2S is teaming up with Becoming Ultra coaches for this special co-ed trail running camp for all levels!
The Venue:
The Wine Country Inn is located in Palisade, Colorado and nestled among over 21 acres of working vineyards which produce world-class grapes that are crushed and bottled as a private label wine for guests to enjoy. The Victorian- style inn is a short drive or bike ride from over twenty wineries and numerous vineyards, orchards, and farms.
With spectacular views, endless amenities and exceptional service this is THE place to stay when visiting and recreating in Western Colorado!
Where will we be running?
Locations include but not limited to Colorado National Monument, Fruita, Loma and the Grand Mesa. Plan on being out and active most of the day, all activities are voluntary and there will be pacers and options for those looking for longer/shorter excursions.

Did someone say Wine?!?
After a long weekend we will un-"wine" with winery biking tour visiting various wineries in the area for tastings and to soak in the laid back lifestyle of this small community. You will also have the opportunity to grab some fresh produce, honey and other items produced in the area by local farmers and ranchers. There are plenty of options for non drinkers to enjoy and the day is meant as a recovery ride to see the beautiful area and give our legs a break!
Recovery sessions:
We will host a pi-yo class, have foam rollers and other massage/stretching devices available for use over the weekend and also take a trip for a dip (aka cold water therapy) in the Colorado river.
Clinics:
- Running form/gait session with agility + footwork drills everyone should be doing to improve your trail running technique
- Power hiking tips and technique for steep/technical terrain + proper and most effective use of trekking poles
-Ongoing Q & A with any of the professional coaches that will be there the entire time!

Welcome Moms!
The half marathon takes place on Mother’s Day! What better way to celebrate than to treat yourself or the special mom in your life with the gift of a trail running camp in Colorado’s beautiful wine country!
Training:
Members of our Colorado Women’s Trail Running Training club will be training as a group specifically for the Fruita Trail half. Members will receive a free training plan and a discount on the camp (see below).
Fees:
Deposit is $500, pay now to secure your spot and the remaining fees will be due 30 days prior to the camp. OR check out the discount options below.
Single Occupancy= $1850
Double Occupancy $1450 (2 queen beds)
Note: There are a limited number of private vs shared rooms. If you choose shared accommodation we will pair you with an awesome roommate however shared rooms are not guaranteed if we have an uneven number of registrations. Please plan accordingly for retreat fees, final invoices will be emailed out 60 days prior to retreat start date, payment in full is due by April 10th, 2024.

The Coaches
Scott Jones, M.S.
Scott is a lifelong coach and founder of Becoming Ultra. He is an entrepreneur in health, fitness, and sports performance and all of the crazy business and life things would never fit on just one page! After launching Becoming Ultra in 2015 he started putting on live events in the form of camps and retreats for runners. The energy of getting people offline and into the mountains and onto the trails is something you have to experience to understand and he is planning on creating many more of these experiences for runners around the world!
Lauren Jones:
Lauren grew up in Littleton, CO and has been running, biking and hiking trails in Colorado and around the world for over 25 years! She has her degree in exercise science and sports performance, pilates, sports medicine and has been working as a trainer and coach for 20 years. Lauren is the mother of 2 active little boys and is the founder of Life’s 2 Short Fitness. She is passionate about introducing women to new sports and empowering them to overcome obstacles, build confidence and explore the outdoor world.
